Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Jury Selection Begins

King of Pop's mom preps for court battle against concert promoter AEG Live.

Jury selection for the Michael Jackson wrongful death lawsuit brought against AEG Live began Tuesday (Apr. 2), and the outcome is worth billions.

Candidates had to answer pages of questions to determine their non-bias in a trial that may take up to three months.

One section, 24-pages long, focused on general knowledge of Jackson, including his childhood, music and family.

Another section included the ill-fated This Is It tour, for which he was rehearsing up until the night before his death in June 2009.

The late singer's mother, Katherine Jackson, filed the $40 billion suit on behalf of herself and MJ's three childrenParisPrince Michael and Blanket.

She believes that AEG, a concert promotion "giant," was negligent in hiring Dr. Conrad Murray, who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death, and will be momentarily released from his four-year sentence to testify.

Jackson's mother and eldest children are all expected to take the stand as well.

AEG attorney Marvin Putnam is arguing that Murray was one of many doctors that treated Jackson.
